WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Hispanic Lobbyists Association (HLA) recognized Veronica Duron, Legislative Director for Senator Cory Booker (NJ), with the Avanza Trailblazer Award at the 2019 Avanza Awards reception on May 22, 2019.
The Congressional Hispanic Staff Association is proud of Duron’s accomplishments and contributions to Capitol Hill. Duron served in various capacities in the offices of former Congressman Solomon Ortiz and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer prior to her current post with Senator Booker. Duron has been an active member of CHSA during her tenure on Capitol Hill, serving as President and Vice President of the Executive Board and lending her professional acumen to all staffers.
“The Avanza Awards recognize trailblazers who have demonstrated leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion among their staff in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors and/or leading policy priorities that advance Latino civic, social, and economic empowerment. In addition to forging a path forward in either diversity and/or policy, the Avanza Awards recipients have also served with excellence in their respective areas of expertise,” said HLA.
The Congressional Hispanic Staff Association congratulates Veronica Duron on receiving this award and thanks HLA for continuing to support diversity on Capitol Hill.
