CHSA Statement Ahead of One Year Anniversary of January 6th
Washington, D.C. — Today, the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) released the following statement:
"January 6, 2022, marks one year since the insurrection at our nation's Capitol. The destruction that occurred on that dark day was truly horrific, heartbreaking, and traumatizing. We will never forget the sacrifices made by Capitol Police and officials who stood strong to protect congressional staff, Capitol workers, and Members of Congress. And we will continue to process and recover from this deeply unsettling attack in our workplace.
As an organization dedicated to advancing Hispanic staffers in Congress, we remain committed to speaking out against any violence or harm that puts the lives of our members at risk in our place of work and advocating for their safety. Ahead of tomorrow's one year anniversary, we encourage CHSA members to seek support if needed by checking out the resources provided by the House Office of Employee Assistance, the House Center for Wellbeing and the Senate Employee Assistance Program. We stand ready to continue supporting each other.”
