WHO CAN JOIN?

Pursuant to Senate and House ethics rules, our membership is limited to persons who are employed by the United States Congress, including the staff of the Library of Congress, Architect of the Capitol, and state and district office staff. Membership dues for staff members is $25, Interns and fellows in a Congressional office or the Library of Congress are eligible for general membership at the special rate of $10.

Upon payment of dues, an individual will be considered an active general member for one year from the date of payment received or until the member vacates her or his position as staff, intern or fellow of the offices listed above.  Membership shall not be restricted on the basis of race, sex, religion, national origin, political party affiliation, economic status, or sexual orientation.  

For eligible individuals who wish to become a member, please complete the CHSA MEMBERSHIP FORM and email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  You can pay your dues using:

  •  Paypal - Go to www.paypal.com then click on "Send Money" tab and enter This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it in the "To" field.
  • Google Store - Go to CHSA Google Store.  You can also get to it by going to http://chsa.dc.org/join and click on the Google Store icon on the bottom right side of the screen. 
You can also submit your payment (personal check or money order) and/or membership form in person to CHSA Treasurer Bertha Guerrero in Longworth 1511. 

 

WHY JOIN?

The Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) is an official, non-partisan Congressional staff organization and the ONLY Hispanic staff association in the U.S. Congress.  CHSA is dedicated to encouraging career development, increasing opportunities, and advocating on behalf of the Latino community by strengthening civic participation and representation at all levels.

If you join the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association you will

  • Become part of a unique “familia” in the United States Congress
  • Attend Professional Development Events with Latino Leaders
  • Become a part of the movement to increase and promote Diversity on the Hill
  • Listen to the experiences of Members of Congress and Latino Leaders in D.C.
  • Give back to the surrounding community

NOT ELIGIBLE?

Persons from the community-at-large are encouraged to join the "Friends of CHSA" list. Friends of CHSA are not voting members but this affiliation allows us to keep you informed about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved. Friends of CHSA  membership is free and provides a great way for non-Hill staff to remain connected and involved in helping CHSA achieve its mission.

          Join our listserv to read and post jobs, events around DC and other relevant notices.

  • Former Hill Staff
  • Individuals seeking professional opportunities on the Hill
