Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) Kicks off

Mentorship Program - May 24, 2011!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
CHSA’s mentorship program will provide interested CHSA members an opportunity to meet and establish professional relationships with more senior mentors who can offer personalized, one-on-one, career and personal advice. Mentors will provide support to help mentees successfully navigate their careers on Capitol Hill and achieve their future aspirations.

• SUMMER PROGRAM DATES: MAY 24TH – AUGUST 24TH

• Only dues-paying CHSA members may participate as mentees.

• Mentors must have at least two years experience working for or with Congress.

• Mentors may include Hill staff, White House staff, Administration and Agency staff, or members of the various professional associations and non-profit organizations, such as the Hispanic Lobbyists Association (HLA) that have worked for or with Congress.

• Mentors may also include current CHSA members as well as former congressional staff, friends of CHSA, and members of the Washington, D.C. community.

• During the program, mentors and mentees will be expected to meet in-person at least once a month, though the length and format of the meetings will be up to the discretion of the mentors and mentees. The pairs are encouraged to contact each other by email, phone, or in-person meetings as they feel comfortable and as needed.

• After the program, participants will be asked to complete a feedback form on the program and are invited to participate in the subsequent program to be matched with another mentor/mentee.

• We hope the relationships established during the program will lay a foundation to last beyond the end of the scope of the formal period.

• CHSA will pair mentors and mentees based on responses to the questionnaire
